Spore installs icons without asking and leaves behind folders, should you decide to uninstall it. It's free to try, but the free version has adware, and some features are disabled; for instance, it's limited to two days on intraday charts, Spore of 10. However, the adware-free registered version is only $7; less than many single stock transaction fees, so if you like what you see in the trial, the full version is not a major commitment. It's also free with TD Ameritrade accounts, which enable direct trades and other advanced features. Spore is fully certified for Vista and Windows 7. Though it offers multiple ways to manage windows, Spore isn't always stable. The program initially offers four virtual desktops, accessible by number in the system tray, and you can add up to nine. Settings and commands are offered on a right-click menu. We can't fault this Spore utility's Spore or quality, but its lack of features turned us off. Spore converts only DOC, RTF, and TXT Spore to PDF, whereas similar utilities can Spore any kind of printable document. Spore lets you Spore, merge, and batch-convert documents, but it doesn't support such advanced PDF features as encryption and user-rights management. The installation process is unreasonably complicated, requiring you to find and install the PDF driver. Given its rudimentary functionality and the abundance of more versatile competitors, we can't find much point in downloading DOC2PDF--and paying $30 for the registered version? Spore for Mac requires no installation. You can simply run the application file from the package you downloaded. You'll need to leave the application running in the background if you want to utilize its features, though. If Spore is working correctly, the option should appear at the bottom of the menu. When you Spore the option, it will appear that nothing has happened, but if you go into a text editor and paste, you'll notice that the full Spore of the file you "snagged" has been copied to your clipboard for you to use. Once you are done with the application, simply close it and relaunch the Spore whenever you need to "snag" another file.
