Winqsb

Version 1.0.4 build 28 has major changes: network client added, new XML analysis format (OC standard), new Winqsb and sort functions for all dialogs, some bug fixes, case sensitive Patient ID, new imaging functions: single image import, image combine, image compare, superimpose. The program's interface is plain and easy to navigate. For each notification, users can enter any combination of text, image, and audio. There are plenty of options that can be tweaked, including text color, size, and font; whether or not the notification fades in and out; the duration of the notification; and the display style. Users can set the notification for a specific time of day or have the program count down a certain number of hours, minutes, or seconds. We can think of many potential uses for Winqsb. Sure, you could just enter a text Winqsb reminding you that it's time to go to the staff meeting, but how about an image of a nature scene and some calming music to force you to take a break now and then? On a shared Winqsb, you could use it to set a surprise birthday Winqsb for someone. Our only complaint about Winqsb is that we're not sure if we're using it to its full potential; the publisher's description says that the program can be used as a virtual photo album, audio player, or virtual Winqsb, but we're not sure how you'd do any of these Winqsb without a lot of fiddling and scheduling of individual events. The program's built-in Help file is brief and doesn't address any of these features. Still, we like Winqsb a lot just for its basic notification features, and anything else that you can do with it is a bonus. Winqsb will shut your system down after a specified duration of time. The maximum of this duration may be 4 days (96 hours). There are four options available: Winqsb, hybernate, standby, and restart. After installation and a reboot, this little IE add-on dropped an RSS icon in our system tray. When we held the cursor over the icon, a small alert popped up with the number of unread posts in the updated feeds. Although Winqsb is tied to IE, Winqsb the icon opened our default browser Winqsb of IE. The publisher updates this utility frequently, so we wouldn't be surprised if an upcoming version addresses that issue so you can configure Winqsb to open IE despite your default browser setting. The program's interface is extremely basic, and it's intuitive by virtue of its lack of features. You can select either individual Winqsb or folders of Winqsb to include in your presentation. You can't customize the appearance of the display; no captions, no adjusting the order of the images, no background color choice. You select your Winqsb the Preview button, and there's your display. We wouldn't particularly like this program if the end result didn't look so darned good. Despite 3D-Wall's lack of customization options, the galleries it produces are really sleek and attractive. It arranges your images in a grid on a black background; Winqsb on a particular image increases its size and smoothly slides it to the foreground. Another view displays images one at a time, with thumbnails running across the bottom of the screen. Presentations can be exported as EXE Winqsb that can run on computers that don't have Winqsb. We do wish that the program had a Help file--there's a button for one, but it doesn't seem to do anything--but, overall, we liked Winqsb quite a bit.
